Aim for a five-step program: apply a slow-release spring feed in mid–late April, follow up six weeks later in early June, again in mid–July, then early September, and finish with a winterizer in November 

Under Surrey’s Stage 1 rules, you may water your lawn one day per week—odd addresses on Tuesdays, evens on Mondays—using sprinklers from 4–6 AM and handheld watering from 6–9 AM 

Cool-season blends are best: Kentucky Bluegrass for lushness, Perennial Ryegrass for quick establishment, and Tall Fescue or Fine Fescue for shade tolerance and drought resilience 

Most lawns benefit from annual core aeration, especially on clay soils; high-traffic or compacted areas may need two aerations per year, while sandy or loam soils often only require aeration every 3–5 years 

You’ll typically get a one-hour on-site meeting where the designer assesses your space, discusses style and budget goals, and outlines a custom plan—often including concept sketches or 3D renderings and a detailed plant/materials list
