Any retaining wall over 1.2 m that supports structures or sits on a slope needs a Surrey city permit. You may also need a Tree Cutting Permit or an arborist supervision letter if nearby trees are affected.

A 300 sq ft patio typically installs in 3–5 days under normal conditions. Larger areas, complex patterns, or tricky terrain can stretch it to 1–2 weeks.

Standard paver patios under 500 sq ft run about $25–$40 per sq ft. Premium materials like natural stone range from $30–$100+ per sq ft, depending on finish.

Freeze–thaw–rated concrete pavers and engineered blocks resist cracking in winter rains and freezes. Natural stone like granite or flagstone offers top weather resistance and low upkeep.

Sweep debris and use a low-pressure wash for dirt and algae. Check for loose stones, clear drainage paths, and apply a breathable sealer each year to protect against moisture and growth.
